I meant to do this a while ago but whatever. Only like three people read this anyway.

So when I was a little munchkin my mother had this little game on her PC called The Secret of Monkey Island [link] My mother was really big into Point and Click Adventure Games so I've been raised on them but this particular one was the first game I ever played. It basically taught me to love.

Sadly Point and Click Adventure Games didn't survive the translation to 3d all games had to make in the late '90s and the Monkey Island series was essentially discontinued after its forth installment, Escape From Monkey Island. (2000.) Ever since then I've really only been half a man (if that) walking an empty, loveless life full of shattered dreams and abusive relationships (with other games, that is).

Anyway, after nine cold and lonely years the Monkey Island series is finally making a comeback. This is basically the best thing that's ever happened in my life.

They have remade the original Monkey Island complete with voice over work and new graphics (which you need Steam to play [link]) and there is also Tales of Monkey Island, a completely original five-part episodic adventure available for both PC and Wii. They will be releasing one episode a month for five months. This isn't a sales pitch, you don't have to go buy anything. I just want to spread the word and create awareness. Also to say how happy I am about it all.
